I have been entrusting my vehicles to Ootmars for about 20 years, starting with my vintage Mustang. They have always been quick to find out the problem and return my car back to me ship-shape. Not only do they do excellent reliable work for the price quoted within the time quoted (and that’s already outstanding these days) but also make sure to let me know if something else needs attention soon. They are proactive in preventing future problems that could leave a person stuck on a highway. They look out for my safety. I’ve often found a ‘bonus’ fix up or two – a little extra gift that says to me these people are proud of the job they do, enjoy turning out a properly working vehicle and take my safety and client satisfaction seriously. Please don’t even THINK of ever retiring, Al – unless you can be cloned!

We feel deep admiration for this wonderful organization’s skill, ethics, and extraordinary concern and care. These are fine people: exceptionally skillful, completely trustworthy, and most uncommonly concerned for each customer’s situations and needs. We rely on Ootmar, and are so grateful they are here.

One of the toughest things about moving to a new city is finding a good place to fix your car. Lawrence, Al and the guys at Ootmar’s have made that search an easy one. I moved to Vancouver in July and have brought my Audi A4 in three or four times for various types of work. They are honest and trustworthy, doing the necessary work only and also suggesting other things that may make the car work better. They also noticed once my speaker wasn’t working properly and they fixed it without charging me. This is the type of great service that keeps me coming back.

I feel so fortunate to have made such an excellent “mechanic connection” at Ootmar Automotive. I was without a vehicle for 15 years and when I decided to get back on the road I worried that I’d never find a trust worthy service station. A friend told me about Ootmar Automotive so I checked them out. I dropped in to introduce myself and explain my needs and was met with such friendly, honest and down to earth people that I was pretty sure right away that I’d found my car clinic. Well, I’ve never looked back. Without fail, I have received quick, competent, value priced service. I’m never surprised by extra charges and they always explain exactly what they’ve done and why. They even let me know about things that are going to need doing in the future so I can plan a bit.

I truly feel that the whole team takes my safety very seriously and the work they’ve done in keeping my car ( 1993 Mazda 323) in great running condition for 5 years now has always been top notch. The staff and the owner are all so friendly and personable; they make me feel like a valued client. The owner even offered to give me a lift home once!

I have dealt with Ootmar Automotive for many years. I keep coming back because they “get it right” with repairs the first time, are extremely honest with their assessments, always provide service promptly and cheerfully. Having trust in your mechanic is key for me; I take my vehicles to them for warranty work as well.

I went to Ootmar Automotive primarily based off of the positive ratings I had read online. I’m really glad I did. Their rates were reasonable and the the customer service was terrific. I highly highly recommend dealing with them.

They will save you money! Anything I need done they can always help out even with tight timeline and they have always been extremely helpful, giving me advice on what’s best for me and my car even when its not going to benefit them in any way. I found them based on good reviews online and it’s all true! My last mechanic before I moved here was my uncle, so clearly I got a great service and I thought I’d never find anything close to that here, so I was pleasantly surprised. just give them a call and you’ll know you made the right decision.

From the moment I walked into the shop there was a feeling that my car would be taken car of and I wouldn’t be paying through the nose for the service. It’s hard to describe this does not happen when I have to take the car to the dealer where there are 1/2 a dozen staff manning the counter and all those mechanics in the back, someone has to pay their salary and guess who that is, me! Thanks Ootmar, it’s nice to know there is a mechanic shop you can actually trust!

No… that was not your everyday knight in shining armour! That was Lawrence swooping in to save the day and replace my front headlight bulb! Faster than a speeding bullet and with more grace and style than “spiderman”.

Would like to give shout out Lawrence and staff, brought my Subaru Legacy in for it’s 40,000 klm required svc to keep the warranty current. Was told about a small leak on one of the front struts and told I should take car to dealer as it might be covered under warranty, (it expired in just 3 months) Thanks guys, you just saved me $1000.000 the dealer replaced both front struts and a front end alignment at no charge to me!!!

Lawrence gave me Sterling Silver service- no BS- no pretending my old Lady was needing a billion things- just straight up great repairs.
Like their Page- They Deserve a thousand Likes but use them for your car needs. I cannot recommend them more highly. Fair is an understatement.

I just went to get my brakes done for my Jeep and Lawrence was very knowledgeable and really wanted me to know where my money was going. I felt comfortable in asking him anything (as I am not a automotive guy at all) and he would articulate it in a way that was very easy to understand. He even stayed after he was already off to really give a thorough explanation of what happened to my brakes His main focus is to educate people and I think this is one of the reasons Ootmar is so successful at what they do. They aren’t your typical mechanics. I have found my new “go-to” guys!

Between Lawrence and Al in the front and the quality work behind the job, these guys are amazing! I had a lengthy issue last august that was unexpected. They kept me up to date along the way and took the time to explain the process. The end result was a fixed AC unit. I also had a part that I had broken off my Jeep (plastic on the shifter) and they thought is was garbage when they were cleaning my car for me to pick up. I wanted the piece and thought it was long gone.
Fast forward 1 year. I bring a truck into the shop for my friend, and Lawrence hands me the piece he had gone through the trash to get. He still had it from a year earlier. Needless to say, I don’t think any other shop would have gone through that amount of trouble or effort for a broken piece of a part.
I would hands down recommend Ootmar for any job, and I have already had 2 calls from my friends thanking me for sending them to Al at Ootmar.
